Asthma is the most common chronic disease in childhood and many parents spend days and nights making sure that their child with asthma has the medications they need and doesn’t have to miss school or go to the hospital for their asthma.

NOTE: This episode is not intended as medical advice and is for education and entertainment only. If you have questions about your particular situation, you should reach out to your primary pediatrician to determine the best testing and treatment plan for your particular situation.

Fall is a difficult time for many patients with asthma, so I thought it would be a good time to talk about this fall frustration.

In this episode, we answer some common questions about asthma:
What is asthma?
How is it diagnosed?
What symptoms should parents look for if they are worried about asthma?
Who is at the highest risk for developing asthma?
Why is fall such a bad time for asthma?

Next week, we will cover the asthma medications. But this week we are starting with the basics.

If you have a question about asthma, send it to me on social media or send me an email. I will cover it in next week’s episode or on a future social media post.
